MANMAN Test

Focuses on the logical flow of transactions across modules—from order placement and fulfillment to invoicing and ledger posting. Assesses understanding of how different MANMAN functions are interconnected (e.g., how a PO receipt updates inventory, triggers payment, and posts to the GL). Includes concepts like document chaining, audit trail visibility, exception messaging, and transaction dependencies.

Tests knowledge of creating, maintaining, and troubleshooting core master data entities: Item Master, Vendor/Customer Master, BOM structures, Costing elements, and Work Centers. Assesses understanding of how master data influences transactional behavior, reporting accuracy, MRP performance, and financial postings. Also includes maintenance cycles, data validation rules, table dependencies, and system limitations in handling duplicate or legacy-coded data.

Evaluates proficiency in managing MANMAN's job queues, batch run configurations, report triggers, and periodic execution cycles. Topics include setup and monitoring of job controls (e.g., daily MRP jobs, month-end close), interpreting job logs, managing print queues, and recovering from batch failures. Also covers report generation logic (e.g., transaction journals, usage reports), runtime optimization, and standard vs custom job flows.

Assesses functional and technical knowledge of warehouse management and material requirements planning. Includes cycle counting, inventory adjustments, MRP run parameters (planning horizon, lot sizing), interpretation of exception reports (shortages, reschedules), and lead-time management. Tests understanding of how MRP interacts with demand inputs, supply constraints, reorder points, and forecast data within MANMAN logic.

Covers MANMAN’s financial architecture including ledger postings, subledger integration, and financial period closures. Evaluates knowledge of chart of accounts, posting triggers from upstream modules (PO, SO, Inventory), soft/hard close sequencing, and reconciliation techniques. Advanced questions address batch posting delays, unresolved ledger balances, GL structure changes, and audit-readiness validation.

Tests hands-on ability to resolve operational issues like failed postings, locked transactions, interface rejections, duplicate entries, or corrupted master data. Focuses on root-cause analysis using error logs, reconciliation reports, and transaction trails. Also includes awareness of how to escalate issues, use diagnostic utilities, and manually correct data inconsistencies using controlled overrides.

Evaluates understanding of inbound and outbound data flows between MANMAN and external systems (e.g., MES, SCM, EDI, Finance). Includes interface file formats, field mapping logic, job chaining, FTP automation, and troubleshooting of interface drops. Advanced questions include custom script usage (e.g., shell, DCL), data bridge tools, and transformation workflows for legacy-modern system coexistence.

Assesses the candidate’s ability to manage aged data, closed transactions, and audit-sensitive records. Includes archival strategies for legacy transactions, compliance requirements (e.g., SOX, ITGC), retention policies, and record deactivation protocols. Questions address purging strategies, index rebuilds, audit trail completeness, and documentation of cleanup logic for regulated environments.

Tests strategic knowledge in designing and executing phased transitions from MANMAN to modern ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle). Focuses on data migration governance, coexistence model design (bridges, APIs), data reconciliation mapping, business continuity planning, and stakeholder management. Includes integration with cloud data lakes, use of legacy gateways, and phased cutover planning with rollback controls.
